For decades, deep cryogenic treatments
have been developed in an atmosphere of
scepticism. The application is basically
empiric, based on experience. Meanwhile
almost no serious investigation has been
performed in order to know more about what
really happens inside the materials submitted
to cryogenic temperatures.
The interest
in the process has grown in the last
few years due to the clear evidence
of the results obtained with these treatments.
As a consequence, nowadays cryogenic
treatments are investigated in some universities
and
research centres worldwide.
It is necessary
to conduct research on two levels. The
first one is the essence
of the transformations produced in
the material and the mechanisms that produce
those changes. Secondly, the application
level which aims to look for
the best performance of the treatments from
the
different industrial
uses point of view. This will be a
difficult and costly investigation due
to the vast
quantity of materials and applications
that can be considered to be researched.
As
a European pioneer company in this field,
we are perfectly aware of the importance
of research in this area and the dissemination
of the results and the possible applications
of this new technology. We invest an
important part of our resources in different
projects
and collaborate with universities, research
centres and industrial companies.
